This weeks articles focused on technology in the classrooms and how teachers belief’s really influence the use of technology in the classroom. The first article: Teacher Pedagogical Beliefs: The final frontier in our quest for technology integration really zones in on the fact that what teachers believe about technology and they way it can be used really has an impact on students. The way teachers integrate technology in the classroom depends on the level of knowledge they have and the level of computer skills to teach. If a teacher does not feel confident in the classroom with technology it will reflect in their teaching. The students will also be a very valuable tool in the classroom as a resource for using technology that may be unfamiliar to the teacher but not so much to the students. The article also relates to changing teachers ideals and how it can effect the use of technology in the classroom. In my opinion, I don’t believe that teachers ideals about the way they teach need to change, rather they should be given all the tools and equipment to be able to expand their pedagogy and make the most out of the resources that are available to them. I also believe that teachers need to understand they their job is ever changing. Generations of children will evolve and so will their learning style; the sooner teachers understand and except this fact the easier their job will become.

First Question: Which learning style does this ICT support? Using music or sound files in the classroom supports many different learning styles. It really allows for the auditory learners to have their turn in getting an advance on their learning, because they are able to use their listening skills to learn new information.

Second Question: How could this ICT be implemented as a good cognitive tool within the learning environment? Using music in the classroom is a great cognitive tool with regards to the learning environments because it allows for many different learning engagements to occur as well as meaningul and deeper learning. It is a readily available resource that teachers can use all the time, yet it is widely under used.

Third Question: How is this ICT enabling the development of creativity? Using sound files in the classroom really gets the student to focus on what they are hearing and may be even visualise the instruments in their mind. It allows students to switch off their other senses and soley use a very important sense of hearing. It allows for creativity because not only does it reinforce key teaching points, but music is a great way of stimulating memories and previous experiences.
